We use marcite here in Florida. Don't know enough about fiberglass to give an opinion. I do know drowning prevention so when installing any pool please be sure that all the layers of protection are in place. If you are not sure what they are please tour our website www.babyotterswimschool.com for the information on the safety DVD or go to www.tenminutesforlife.com. Also when building a pool if you have children I recommend two shallow ends and the deeper part in the middle. It makes the pool easier for kids to use. Make sure they all know how to swim. Good luck. Have a water Safe Day

We are installing an inground pool in the very near future. Our first decision is to go with a fiberglass pool or a gunite pool? Advice from all you pool owners would be greatly appreciated. If you have had both types, please indicate in your relpy. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your story. I have been involved in drowning prevention for over 26 years because my daughter was found at the bottom of the pool at 17 months old. I have a happy ending which is why I am in the drowning prevention arena. Good for you not letting your fears affect your decision about your child taking lessons. How great that your dad knew CPR. I can totally relate because that is how I brought my child back was my knowledge of CPR. I hope the lessons for your daughter went well and she is swimming all over the pool.

I just have to write a quick THANK YOU....my daughter and her dad were swimming in our pool the other day. Dad was on the other end of the pool, daughter on the steps, reaching for toy (you can see where this is going), fell off the step. She was in an area she could still stand, but didn't know that. She turned, ki...cked, and swam back to the top step. TKR in action. Dad was right there, he said it was amazing to see it work. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Baby Otter.

Seriously people, if you have a small child you can't afford not to put them through the TKR program.
