Hall of Fame hero Andre Dawson is geared up to help make a difference in the drowning prevention arena. His passion came from a horrible experience as a child and finally at age 50 deciding to overcome his fear and learn to swim from an expert in the field from Baby Otter Swim School.  Once Andre learned how amazing the water can truly be, he decided to spend time at the school to see how the program is taught to children as young as nine months old. He was totally amazed that a child who can barely walk or talk can learn to swim in just five (5) days. He decided to join forces to help this program go national and help all children learn to be comfortable and safe in the water. His target for inner city children is a passion of his as he revs up his commitment  this time with his name as part of the mission. The Baby Otter Andre Dawson Aquatic Center (their new upcoming name) will license their unique 5 day program hopefully reaching the masses both nationally and internationally to change the drowning statistics one child at a time.  Drowning is the leading cause of death in children under the age of 5. With some water safety education for parents on the layers of protection and teaching children to swim we know together with Andre the drowning statistics will change.
